Every year, Nation of Patriots (NOP) organizes a national effort that pays tribute to, and honors, all of America’s Armed Forces – past, present, and fallen. Nation of Patriots work nationally to raise money to financially support the physical, emotional, and economic misfortune of wounded veterans and their families.
On Saturday, the ninth annual Patriot Tour finished at Swan City Park in Beaver Dam. The participants carried one American flag through 48 U.S. states over the course of 110 days. The journey in total was 14,500 miles.
Nation of Patriots history and mission:
Nation of Patriots™ was formed in 2008 and achieved our exempt status in early 2009. We launched the very first Patriot Tour™ in 2009. Our humble start has led to a huge following across the country and we continue to work on this upward growth. Our focus has been and always will be this: to provide financial support to those who have served in our Armed Forces and their families. These individuals have volunteered their lives in the preservation, protection and future of The United States and all of its citizens. We work to unite Americans beneath the banner or Flag and behind the men and women serving in the Armed Forces. We raise money through our national network and distribute it directly to the families we strive to support. The families are selected for us mostly through the VA Hospital network.
We are a 100% volunteer nonprofit. We give 100% of all donations received directly to the veterans we strive to help. We work with VA facilities and many other veteran organizations to help us locate and select the veteran families based on specific criteria. Each year, NOP organizes a Junior Patriot Tour, consisting of a bicycle decorating contest, which leads the Patriot Tour to their final destination. The Junior Patriot Tour event is for children between the ages 5-12. The winner of the decorating contest is given a new bike. This year there were three winners! All recipients received a new bike. Schumann Printers, Inc., was happy to donate one of the winning bikes and help sponsor the event.
