PAPER
We’ve got the edge on paper, thanks to our vast on-site storage facility. With such a high volume of paper options on hand, we can keep our prices competitive while meeting your paper needs. Plus, we offer eco-friendly paper, and we recycle all of our waste paper to reduce our environmental footprint even more.
PREPRESS
From color management to design production support, you can depend on us to give unparalleled attention to quality control. We offer the most advanced thermal computer-to-plate electronic prepress services in the industry. In other words, get ready to enjoy the finest quality and most economical product possible.
We were the second printer in the world to install G7 technology on our presses to achieve gray balance and visual similarity. These industry-leading specifications continually scan and control the color/registration on press, so quality remains consistent throughout press runs.
In addition, our Kodak Prinergy workflow with Kodak InSite soft proofing is easy to use and will save days of sending "hard proofs" back and forth for approvals. All you need is an internet connection and a color calibrated monitor to save time and money.
PRESS
As the most automated web-printer in the United States, our Heidelberg presses operate around the clock. All of our presses use the most updated computerized technology available. By investing in the most up-to-date technologies, we exceed industry standards and deliver the best in printed and digital products.
Our GOSS Sunday Presses — Heidelberg M-1000 BE, Heidelberg M-1000 BE, Heidelberg-Goss Sunday 2000, Goss Sunday 3000 — operate around the clock. Together with our G7 color specifications, we can ensure quick turn-around times, superior print quality, and finished products are the very best in the industry.
Plus, we regularly produce short press runs of reprints, brochures, and other materials using digital printing. This revolution in full color printing helps eliminate shipping costs, storage, and handling fees.
FINISHING
Our full service Bindery facility encompasses a wide array of in-line and off-line finishing equipment. Perfect bound or saddle stitched? We have both. Our 20 and 24 pocket high-speed Heidelberg perfect binders are equipped with both EVA and PUR adhesive capabilities. We also have two high speed Saddle Stitchers that are capable of producing nearly thirty thousand finished and ready-to-mail pieces per hour. Operated in perfect unison with these high speed machines are our specialty Saddle Stitching machines, which are capable of producing finished pieces from small digest to large tabloid sizes. All of our specialty machines are 4th and 5th knife capable with in-line calendar punching at the ready.
That is not where it ends. We have an equally large number of ancillary pieces of equipment that support our main-line manufacturing equipment. From Tipping to Belly Banding and Off-line mailing with our new Sitma W1050 Automatic Poly Wrapping System, Schumann Printers full service Bindery is ready to handle even the most complex of client projects.
DISTRIBUTION
Our shipping department's primary goal is to efficiently bridge the gap between the customer's finished product and the end-user, whether located in the same community or in different parts of the world. We are committed to providing reliable and efficient transportation strategies for your load. We make extensive use of pool shipments to reduce shipping times and keep your products safer by reducing handling errors. Trucks leave our facility every day for delivery to Bolingbrook, Illinois mailing center, where titles are co-palletized and/or co-mailed with hundreds of other titles, ensuring subscriber delivery.
The last and all-important service we can offer is making sure customer's shipments are made promptly. It's essential to know when a shipment was made. Our Customer Account Managers provide each customer with shipping reports for all UPS and FedEx shipments with hyperlinked tracking numbers to give you immediate access to information. By simply clicking on the tracking number, tracking details are instantly viewable on the vendor's website. In addition, our Customer Account Managers supply pro numbers and tracking details for truck/LTL deliveries.
X DIGITAL
X-Digital allows customers to easily add or enhance digital editions and apps to build upon their media brand. Our Digital Editions offer the replica and mobile optimized view as part of our HTML5 Responsive design, all within our basic package.
