On April 9, 2024, the USPS filed a rate case with the PRC proposing a postal rate increase. If approved, these new rates would take effect on July 14, 2024. The PRC has been given until May 31 to review comments and finalize their decision.

In 2024, there are two postal rate increases on the horizon, with the first set to be announced in October and taking effect on January 21st. This initial increase can only include the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data from March 2023 to August 2023.

As we commemorate our 60th anniversary, Schumann Printers takes pride in reflecting on our rich history and the journey that led us to where we are today. Founded in 1963 by Jack Schumann, our company started in a small basement in Fall River, Wisconsin. Jack studied printing at Dunwoody College in Minnesota, and after graduating, he took a risk by moving to Fall River to start his own printing business.

Schumann Printers is excited to share our new video, showcasing the amazing team that makes up our printing facility. The video offers a behind-the-scenes look at our printing operations and introduces viewers to the dedicated individuals who produce our high-quality printed materials.

SPI is excited to announce that the modifications and upgrades to the M-1000 8 Unit are complete. The project included rebuilding the main mechanical components of the entire press and upgrading the drives, controls, and HMIs. Mark Schumann, vice president of SPI, who has been leading the project, commented:

In August, Ball Publishing made a trip out to SPI in Fall River, WI, to see how their publication, GrowerTalks, gets made. Ball Publishing creates magazines, newsletters, online resources, videos, webinars, and podcasts to provide the horticulture industry with cutting-edge information on the latest crops, culture, and innovations. They have been a partner with Schumann Printers for 23 years. They currently print GrowerTalks/GreenProfit, a monthly publication, and a quarterly title called Inside Grower Supplement.

On Saturday, July 16th, SPI had their Summer Company Picnic. It was a day filled with yard games, bingo, bouncy houses, temporary tattoos, and lots of smiles. On Wednesday, May 25th, Schumann Printers, Inc. traveled to The Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee, WI, to attend the 2022 Great Lakes Graphics Association Graphics Excellence Awards Celebration. Each year, the Great Lakes Graphics Association’s Graphics Excellence Awards competition recognizes companies throughout Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin for the superb craftsmanship in the design, creation, and production of top-quality printed material they produce for their customers.

Schumann Printers continues its work with Manroland Goss to rebuild the M-1000 8 Unit press. Although challenges with the current supply chain cause delays and shortages within many industries, repairs on the M-1000 8 Unit are underway. More importantly, all of the parts required for the rebuild have been secured. Schumann Printers' Vice President, Mark Schumann, feels optimistic about the project's current progress.
